The information below is available in the GOOGLE DOC you received through classroom. It is the same information. Make sure to complete things IN ORDER and in the Google Document that has been shared with you (and can be accessed) through the Google Classroom
Part 1 Choose a candidate who is running for Governor, Senate, Supreme Court, or an office of your choice on November 4, 2014. You will be creating a political advertisement for them.
After you've chosen your candidate, you need to do research to decide which issue you are going to help promote for your candidate. Use Google, and the links below to help guide you to some important information on the candidate. Do NOT use Wikipedia as your source. These issues include, but are not limited to:
The information you include below will help you to write the audio portion of your script in Part 2.
Complete the Steps Below
Step #1
Now that your candidate and topic have been chosen, find one speech or online newspaper article where your candidate has discussed your chosen topic.
Suggestion: Google the candidate’s name and topic:
EX: Mark Schauer Economy
EX: Rick Snyder Roads
Step #2
Copy the quotes and/or summary of the quote into the ongoing notes file in a Google doc
Step #3
Find the candidate’s website, copy the URL into your Google doc.
Step #4
Find five facts/statements from the website regarding the topic for your candidate. Copy these facts into your notes as an organized list:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Step #5
Now write your own quote about your candidate’s position/stand on your topic.
Part 2
Write the audio portion of your script by taking only the most important statements/phrases/quotes and condensing them into the most important 30 seconds.
You must mention your candidate’s name at least 3 times in your script.
You must clearly state your candidate’s position on the topic at least 1 time in your script.
You must use your background research to support how s/he will improve that area if they are elected.
Once the script is to your liking, use a timer, and read the script ALOUD to make sure it is EXACTLY 30 SECONDS.
If it is too long, then edit.
If it is too short, add more details.
Part 3
Using images from __Creative Commons__, find visuals to support the audio script that you wrote in Part 2 above.
Save the URL and the jpeg file into your notes.
You will be better off finding higher resolution files instead of thumbnails. Look for larger file sizes to get a better image.
You will need ONE image for every 3-4 seconds of audio.
Part 4
Create Your script. It should look like this. NOTE: This script is about 15 seconds long. You will need more images and text.
